Chennai, Tamil Nadu: AKB School has marked a significant milestone in educational innovation by introducing Tara, a fully automated AI-powered humanoid teacher, making it the first school in Tamil Nadu to deploy a fully automated AI humanoid teacher as part of its learning ecosystem.
The introduction of Tara represents a major step toward creating AI-enabled classrooms where technology enhances learning while supporting teachers. Powered by advanced artificial intelligence, Tara can interact naturally with students, answer questions in real time, conduct engaging classroom sessions, provide personalized learning assistance, and support multilingual communication.
Unlike traditional digital teaching tools, Tara is designed as an interactive classroom companion that combines robotics, artificial intelligence, and smart education to create immersive learning experiences. The robot will assist educators in STEM education, robotics, coding, AI awareness, language learning, and classroom engagement while allowing teachers to focus more on mentoring and individual student development.
Mohamed Kassim, Founder & Chairman of AKB School, said: "Education is entering a new era where artificial intelligence and human teachers work together. Tara is not here to replace teachers but to empower them and prepare our students for the future of AI, robotics, and digital innovation."
Developed by iHub Robotics, Tara represents India's growing capabilities in educational robotics and physical AI. The deployment reflects AKB School's commitment to preparing students with future-ready skills and creating one of the country's most technologically advanced learning environments.
